Mateo galindo torres - Artistic Director
Toronto based Colombian born multidiciplinary dance artist, Mateo Galindo Torres has performed and choreographed professionally in Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Germany, Mexico, and Panama. His work fuses his eclectic movement background and is often politically charged and inspired by social subject matters.
As one of the artistic directors and founding member of Form Contemporary Dance Theatre, Torres has choreographed and created multiple works of the company’s repertoire. As a performer, his latest projects include work with Peggy Baker, Sashar Zarif, Vanguardia Dance Projects, Aria Evans, Kaeja d’Dance, and Kathleen Rea.
Torres has trained professionally in Colombia, Cuba, USA, and Canada. While his current focus in dance is not bound by specific techniques or genres, Torres has extensive training in classical and modern dance, and his studies include Argentinian tango, capoeira, salsa, Cuban rhythms, and Colombian folklore.
